4-Day Sahara Desert Tour from Fes

We will leave Fes in the morning and head toward the desert. On the way, we’ll stop in Ifrane, often called Morocco’s “Little Switzerland,” then continue through the cedar forests of Azrou where wild monkeys live. We’ll drive through the Middle Atlas Mountains and stop for lunch in Midelt. In the afternoon, we’ll enjoy the beautiful views of the Ziz Valley before reaching Merzouga. You’ll settle in your hotel near the dunes for the night.

We will spend the day exploring the Merzouga region. We’ll visit Khamlia Village to discover its culture and learn about the nomadic way of life in the nearby desert. You’ll have the option to try quad biking or sandboarding on the dunes. In the late afternoon, we’ll ride camels into the golden sands of Erg Chebbi. After watching the sunset, we’ll enjoy dinner at a desert camp and spend the night under the stars.

We will wake up early to watch the sunrise over the dunes, then enjoy breakfast at the camp. After that, we’ll return to Merzouga by camel or 4×4. On the way, we’ll visit Rissani, a historic town with a lively local market, and then stop in Erfoud, famous for its fossils. In the afternoon, we’ll drive through the Ziz Oasis, surrounded by palm trees and mountains, and arrive in Midelt for the night.

After breakfast, we will begin the drive back to Fes. Along the way, we’ll stop in the cedar forests near Azrou, where you might see wild monkeys. We’ll pass again through the peaceful town of Ifrane before arriving in Fes by the afternoon or early evening.
