3-Day tour from Marrakech to Fes
Day 1: Marrakech → Ait Ben Haddou → Ouarzazate → Dades Valley
We leave your hotel or riad in Marrakech very early in the morning. We leave early to enjoy the beautiful scenery en route and get into the Sahara Desert area in time for the sunset experience.
We drive through the High Atlas Mountains, crossing the famous Tizi n’Tichka Pass, stopping along the way to enjoy the wonderful views and take pictures. We drive to the famous Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou (a UNESCO World Heritage Site).
We can take our time to look around and have lunch at the UNESCO World Heritage site and roam and eat.
After lunch, we drive through Ouarzazate and the stunning Valley of Roses to the Dades Valley.
We will have an overnight stay in a hotel in the Dades Valley with dinner included.
Day 2: Dades Valley → Todra Gorge → Merzouga Desert
We depart the Dades Valley after breakfast and continue our journey to Todra Gorge, one of Morocco’s most impressive canyons. You will have time to walk between the towering cliffs and enjoy the quiet.
We continue to drive through Berber villages and beautiful desert scenery until we reach Merzouga on the edge of the Sahara Desert.
Afternoon: Camel ride across the golden dunes and experience the magical sunset over the Sahara. After the camel ride you will reach your desert camp, where you will enjoy a traditional Moroccan dinner, Berber music around the fire and a night under the stars.
You will have dinner and spend the night in the desert camp.
Day 3: Merzouga → Ziz Valley → Midelt → Ifrane → Fes
Wake up early to witness the stunning sunrise over the dunes of the Sahara. After breakfast you will ride the camel or 4×4 back to Merzouga, where your driver will be waiting for you.
We leave the desert and drive through the beautiful Ziz Valley, with its palm trees and amazing views. We stop for lunch at Midelt and then drive out across the Middle Atlas mountains.
We drive to Fes, passing the pretty town of Ifrane, known as the “Little Switzerland of Morocco”. We make a stop in the cedar forest near Azrou, where there are Barbary monkeys.
We will return to Fes in the evening, and we will drop you at your hotel or riad. That’s the end of your desert adventure.
