5-Day Morocco Desert Tour Itinerary
Day 1: Casablanca – Rabat – Meknes
We begin the tour by picking you up from your hotel or the Casablanca airport. After a visit to the exterior of the grand Hassan II Mosque, we drive to Rabat to see the Hassan Tower and Kasbah Oudayas. We then continue to Meknes, where you’ll spend the night in a charming riad.
Day 2: Meknes – Ifrane – Azrou – Ziz Valley – Merzouga
After breakfast, we head south through the Middle Atlas Mountains. Stop in Ifrane (known as the ‘Little Switzerland’ of Morocco), and then in the cedar forests of Azrou where you might spot wild monkeys. After lunch in Midelt, we continue via the scenic Ziz Valley to Merzouga. Overnight in a riad or hotel near the dunes.
Day 3: Merzouga – Camel Trek & Desert Camp
In the morning, you can relax or explore nearby villages. In the afternoon, begin your camel trek through the majestic Erg Chebbi dunes. Watch the sunset and enjoy a traditional dinner at the desert camp. Sleep in a comfortable tent under the starry sky.
Day 4: Merzouga – Rissani – Todra Gorges – Dades Valley
Wake up early for a desert sunrise, then have breakfast and return by camel or 4×4. We continue to Rissani and Erfoud, then explore the dramatic Todra Gorges. Afterward, drive through the Valley of Roses to Dades Valley for overnight in a local guesthouse with dinner.
Day 5: Dades Valley – Ait Ben Haddou – Marrakech
On the final day, we visit the Skoura oasis and the famous Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah, a UNESCO site featured in many films. Afterward, we cross the High Atlas Mountains via Tizi n’Tichka Pass and reach Marrakech in the late afternoon. Drop-off at your hotel or Marrakech airport. End of tour.

- The camel ride to the desert camp lasts between 30 minutes to 1 hour. A 4×4 transfer is available upon request.
- Your luggage stays securely in the vehicle, even while you’re in the desert camp.
