Day 1: Fes – Ifrane – Azrou – Midelt – Ziz Valley – Merzouga Desert
We will depart from Fes in the morning and make our first stop in Ifrane, often called the “Switzerland of Morocco” for its alpine-style architecture and clean streets. Then, we’ll pass through the cedar forests of Azrou, where you may spot wild Barbary monkeys. After lunch in Midelt, a town nestled between the Middle and High Atlas Mountains, we’ll continue driving through the scenic Ziz Valley, known for its palm groves and old kasbahs. By late afternoon, we’ll arrive in Merzouga at the edge of the Sahara. From here, we’ll ride camels into the dunes of Erg Chebbi, timing our arrival to enjoy the sunset. The night will be spent in a desert camp, surrounded by silence, sand, and stars.
Day 2: Merzouga – Rissani – Erfoud – Todra Gorges – Dades Valley
We will wake up early to see the sunrise over the desert. After breakfast in Merzouga, we visit the market town of Rissani. Then we drive to Erfoud, known for fossils. Next, we go to the Todra Gorges to enjoy a walk between the high canyon walls. In the afternoon, we arrive in the Dades Valley and spend the night there.
Day 3: Dades Valley – Middle Atlas – Azrou – Fes
After breakfast, we will start driving back to Fes. Along the way, we’ll enjoy some scenic stops in valleys and small villages. We’ll pass through Azrou again and take a short break in the cedar forest. We will arrive in Fes by the evening.
